Ohio University Campus Area Transit Service

"Tired of having to hike from one end of campus to the other? Fed up with having to climb 'the hill' every morning? Having a hard time finding a convenient place to park on main campus? If so, then...Let us Drive!"

  • Three fixed routes: West Union I, West Union II, and The Ridges
  • Ohio University students, faculty, staff, and visitors ride for free--no pass or ID required 
  • All CATS stops and CATS vehicles are handicap accessible

CATCAB is a handicap accessible transportation service provided for Ohio University students, faculty, and staff experiencing temporary or permanent disabilities. 
  • Free for those with Ohio University ID
  • Service limited to transportation to, from, or within Ohio University's campus.
  • Will drop off/pick up within 1 mile radius of Ohio University's Campus

GoBus

"The GoBus Intercity Bus Service is a collaborated effort between the Ohio Department of Transportation, The City of Athens, and Hocking Athens Perry Community Action. The project is part of a nationwide effort to connect rural areas and urban centers resulting in connections of greater regional, statewide, and national significance."  
 
  • GoBus offers quick connections between the City of Athens and Columbus/Cincinnati.
  • The Athens/Columbus route stops in Athens, Nelsonville, Logan, Lancaster, and Columbus (at the Greyhound Station and Port Columbus Airport).
  • The Athens/Cincinnati route stops in Jackson, Piketon, Peebles, Winchester/Seaman, Mt. Orab, and Batavia .
  • Buses make two roundtrips daily: 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Metro

"Metro is Southwest Ohio's fixed route bus service. Providing more than 22 million rides per year, Metro brings approximately 20% of downtown Cincinnati's workforce into the city. Metro service operates 365 days a year and serves Hamilton County residents along with some commuter trips from Clermont, Warren and Butler counties into Cincinnati."

  • Metro Trip Planner helps riders plan which routes to take and provides updated schedule changes
  • Operates from approximately 4:00 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. every day
  • Monthly passes are available for purchase online
  • Children under age 2 ride free (limit 2 per paying adult), and qualifying seniors/riders with disabilities receive half-price fare
